Robot Lawn Mower RTK Without Boundary Wire
RTK GNSS for robotic lawn mowers replaces the boundary wire with virtual boundaries and centimetre positioning. Eview offers the HBEV322 smart antenna and the compact HB50 and HB52 receivers, powered by Septentrio mosaic-G5 modules with AIM+ anti-jamming, plus the HBEV11 or HB62 as a local base station for gardens, parks and sports fields.

Robot lawn mower RTK: key facts
A robot lawn mower with RTK GNSS uses correction data from a base station or NTRIP service to find its position to about 2 cm, so it can mow inside virtual boundaries without a buried wire.
- Accuracy: about 1 to 2 cm with RTK in open sky
- Boundaries: virtual GPS fence instead of boundary wire
- Signals: multi-band GPS, GLONASS, Galileo and BeiDou for gardens with trees and houses
- Heading: dual-antenna option for straight stripes from standstill
- Corrections: own base station or NTRIP network
- Interference: AIM+ anti-jamming and anti-spoofing
Robotic mowing applications
Easy to integrate
RTK lawn mower robots for every kind of grass
RTK GNSS lets a robotic mower follow virtual boundaries instead of a buried wire. Eview receivers and smart antennas give mowers centimetre position and heading, even near trees and houses.

Robotic mower GNSS: frequently asked questions
Yes. With RTK GNSS the mower knows its position to about a centimetre, so boundaries and no-go zones are stored as virtual maps instead of buried wire. The mower needs RTCM v3 corrections from a local base station or an NTRIP service, and a reasonably clear view of the sky.
Not always. Where a reliable NTRIP or CORS service is available, the mower can use it over LTE or Wi-Fi. A local base, such as the HBEV11 smart antenna, gives independence from mobile coverage. For parks and golf courses, the HB62 rugged base can serve corrections over NTRIP to several mowers.
Trees, walls and roofs block and reflect satellite signals, which can cause the RTK fix to drop. Multi-constellation, multi-frequency tracking, APME+ multipath mitigation and LOCK+ help the receiver keep or quickly regain the fix, with RTK initialisation in about 7 s. Many mowers also use wheel odometry and an IMU to bridge short gaps.
The HBEV322 smart antenna is the simplest choice: receiver, antenna and compass in one housing with a single GH1.25 connector. If you prefer a separate antenna, the HB50 is small and draws only 0.44 W. The HB52H adds dual-antenna heading for straight mowing lines.
Septentrio AIM+ detects and suppresses interference from nearby Wi-Fi routers, chargers and motor electronics, and Galileo OSNMA authenticates the satellite signals against spoofing. This helps keep RTK available in residential areas with dense RF noise. See anti-jamming vs anti-spoofing.
It is a small multi-band GNSS receiver that uses RTK corrections to give the mower centimetre position. It replaces the boundary wire with virtual boundaries and lets the mower cut straight, repeatable lines.
Yes. Golf courses and sports fields are open-sky areas where RTK works very well, and centimetre accuracy keeps mowing patterns and keep-out zones exact.
