Septentrio mosaic-G5 Receivers by Eview

The Septentrio mosaic-G5 is a quad-band GNSS module with 789 channels, centimetre RTK and about 40% lower power than the mosaic-X5. Eview builds it into the HB50, HB50H, HB51, HB52, HBEV11 and HBEV322 receivers and smart antennas, with AIM+ anti-jamming, Galileo OSNMA and dual-antenna heading on P3H models.

What the mosaic-G5 brings to a receiver

Quad-band, all constellations
Quad-band tracking of GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou, Galileo and QZSS on 789 channels. More satellites and frequencies help RTK fix and hold in difficult sky views. See multi-constellation GNSS.
Centimetre RTK
RTK accuracy of 0.6 cm + 0.5 ppm horizontal and 1 cm + 1 ppm vertical, with initialisation in about 7 seconds. See RTK GNSS.
Small and low power
The module measures 22.8 × 16.4 × 2.4 mm and weighs 2.2 g. Typical power is 0.44 W for the P3 and 0.6 W for the P3H, about 40% lower than the mosaic-X5.
AIM+ anti-jamming
AIM+ is on by default and handles narrowband, wideband, chirp and pulsed interference, with real-time spectrum plots to see what is in the band. See anti-jamming GNSS.
Galileo OSNMA
OSNMA authenticates Galileo navigation data, and AIM+ signal-consistency checks add protection against replayed signals. See OSNMA anti-spoofing.
Heading on the P3H
The P3H variant adds dual-antenna heading of 0.15° and pitch or roll of 0.25° at 1 m baseline, from one compact module. See how dual-antenna heading works.

FAQ

Septentrio mosaic-G5: frequently asked questions

What is the Septentrio mosaic-G5?

It is a quad-band GNSS module with 789 channels that tracks GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou, Galileo and QZSS. It gives centimetre RTK at up to 20 Hz in a 22.8 × 16.4 × 2.4 mm, 2.2 g package. The P3 is single-antenna; the P3H adds dual-antenna heading.

What is the difference between the mosaic-X5 and mosaic-G5?

The mosaic-X5 outputs position and measurements at up to 100 Hz and offers 4 UART, USB, Ethernet and SD logging. The mosaic-G5 is smaller, uses about 40% less power, has 789 channels and outputs at up to 20 Hz over 2 UART and USB.

Which Eview products use the mosaic-G5?

The HB50 and HB52 receivers, the HB50H, HB51 and HB52H heading receivers, the HBEV11 and HBEV322 smart antennas, and the G5P3H EVK evaluation board. All are quote-based, and datasheets are available by email.

Can I use RTK and PPK at the same time?

Yes. The receiver outputs a real-time RTK solution while logging raw SBF data, which converts to RINEX for post-processing. This gives a PPK fallback if corrections drop out during a flight or survey.

Does the mosaic-G5 support Galileo HAS?

Septentrio states Galileo HAS compatibility for the mosaic-G5, rolled out by software, and the HBEV11 lists HAS. HAS gives free decimetre-level PPP: under 25 cm horizontal in the initial service. RTK is still needed for centimetre work. See our HAS field results.
