Multi-band GNSS drone antenna with flange mount

The Eview EV220 is a GNSS drone antenna that covers four constellations on multiple bands, including Galileo E6, GLONASS G3 and BeiDou B3. Its four-hole flange and 600 mm pigtail cable make it easy to fix on a drone arm, mast or vehicle roof away from the receiver. It is part of our GNSS antenna range and pairs with any RTK GNSS receiver that supplies antenna power. For selection tips, see how to choose a GNSS antenna for UAVs.

Multi-band coverage

The EV220 receives GPS L1/L2, GLONASS G1/G2/G3, Galileo E1/E5b/E6 and BeiDou B1/B2/B3. Galileo E6 carries the Galileo High Accuracy Service, and the extra bands give the receiver more signals for fast, robust RTK. GPS L5 and Galileo E5a are not in the band list; for those choose the EV288.

Phase-centre stability and multipath rejection

Right-hand circular polarisation with an axial ratio of ≤3 dB helps reject signals reflected from the airframe and ground. The wide beam gives good low-elevation reception in partly blocked sky. Mount the flange on a flat surface clear of propellers and large metal parts for the most stable phase centre.

LNA gain and noise

The built-in LNA gives 33 ± 2 dB gain with a noise figure of ≤1.3 dB, ±2 dB passband ripple and VSWR ≤2.0. High out-of-band rejection reduces interference from cellular base stations and on-board radio links. It draws ≤50 mA at DC 3.3–12 V through the coaxial cable.

Mechanical and environmental

The radome is Φ33 mm on a 38.1 × 38.1 mm flange with four Φ3.2 mm holes; total height is 49.8 mm. A 600 mm cable ends in an SMA (male) connector. The antenna is rated IP65 and works from −40 °C to +70 °C, with storage from −55 °C to +70 °C at up to 95% non-condensing humidity.

Compatibility with Eview receivers

The 33 dB LNA and 3.3–12 V supply suit Eview receivers such as the HB52 and the HB50. Two EV220 antennas on a rigid baseline work with dual-antenna receivers for heading; see how dual-antenna heading works.

Applications

Frequently asked questions

Is the EV220 an active antenna?

Yes. Its LNA gives 33 ± 2 dB gain and draws ≤50 mA at DC 3.3–12 V, supplied by the receiver through the coaxial cable.

Does the EV220 support Galileo E6?

Yes. It covers Galileo E1, E5b and E6, GLONASS G3 and BeiDou B3 as well as GPS L1/L2. It does not list GPS L5 or Galileo E5a.

How is the EV220 mounted?

It has a four-hole flange (Φ3.2 mm holes) and a 600 mm cable with an SMA (male) connector, so the receiver can sit away from the antenna.

What is the difference between the EV220 and the EV210?

The EV210 is a smaller cylinder that screws directly onto an SMA port. The EV220 adds Galileo E5b/E6 and GLONASS G3 and uses a flange mount with a cable.
